I have my locations setup

/Locations/USA/New York/Site A
/Locations/USA/New York/Site B
/Locations/USA/New Jersey/Site A
/Locations/USA/New Jersey/Site B
/Locations/USA/New Jersey/Site C
/Locations/Canada/Toronto/Site A
/Locations/Canada/Toronto/Site C

Now I can successfull display maps when I set the base location to /Locations/Canada/Toronto/ or   /Locations/USA/New York/ or  /Locations/USA/New Jersy/.  So my dashboard has 3 closes ups of my locations but also want a zoomed out view on the dashboard.  But if I set the base location to /Locations/USA, I don't see any of the locations, just a zoomed out image of the earth. The same thing happens when I set the base to / or /Locations.

Does anyone do anything like this and have the google maps portlet work correctly?

The only thing I can think of is that /Location/USA, since it is more of a folder than a location, I don't set the address.

You'll need to make sure that you put an address to represent all of NY state and Toronto on those organizers. Statuses from organizers below those organizers will then trickle up to the current view level.

Shane,

Adding the location to the high level organizer is about 90% where I was hoping it could be.  When I set the base location to /Locations/USA, I only see 2 dots for NY and NJ.  Those dots match what I added to the address in /Locations/USA/NY or NJ.  I was hoping I could see all 5 dots for the 5 sites within the NY/NJ area.  Would you expect me to see all 5 locations?  Is that what you meant when you said the "organizers will then trickle up to the current view level?"

Thanks,
Tim

tcaiazza:

I tihnk to get the view you're looking for you'll need to put the Sites in a common organizer.

Example:

/Locations/NorthAmerica/Site A
/Locations/NorthAmerica/Site B
/Locations/NorthAmerica/Site C
/Locations/NorthAmerica/Site D
/Locations/NorthAmerica/Site E

If the portlet is set to /Locations/NorthAmerica you'll see dots for each of the sites.

If you instead:

/Locations/USA/NY/Site A
/Locations/USA/NY/Site B
/Locations/USA/NY/Site C
/Locations/Canada/Toronto/Site A
/Locations/Canada/Toronto/Site B

..and set the portlet to /Locations/USA you'll only see NY, however, statuses from Site A-C will effect the color of the NY dot.

Best,
