Hi,

I've noticed a few posts around regarding this subject but haven't found a script to implement SMS alerts in Zenoss. Does anyone have one they'd like to share?

I'm planning on sending SMS alerts for key events just via normal an SMS gateway over the internet ( http://inteltech.com.au/ http://inteltech.com.au/).

Most cell phone providers supply and email address that will go to SMS.  On my zenoss i have all alerts go to my email, and I have a second alert only for critical events that will send it to the email address that points to my cell phone's SMS.

For example, for an iphone on AT&T, sending an email to <your phone # here>@mobile.mycingular.com will SMS you the email content.  most other cell providers offer similar mecanisms.

Note that some folks use a different process that sends SMS directly via a cell phone attached to the server, this is so alerts still get to you in case the site's internet is down, this is a different scenario.

I think I'll probably stick with the plain email route - during my testing email-to-sms wasn't as fast/reliable as the plain email method.
