Guys please tell me if I did something wrong. Added my email, smtp server and password on advanced ( user settings).
After that, went to template and created a ping template. Added a threshold of 30% for max loss.
Now how can I create a email alert that trigers when the loss exced 30%?Â The threshold is working great,
I can see it triggering at event console. Even if the device goes Down im not receiving any email.
Tryed using trigger asÂ Event Class -> Starts With -> /Status/Ping.
On notification used the above created trigger and did not work :( !
Another question is: there is anyway to set the destination email address ?I just cant find it.

Your pretty close. You need to a a notification to the trigger you added: http://community.zenoss.org/docs/DOC-13310 http://community.zenoss.org/docs/DOC-13310
Its not the most intuative at first glance, but you'll probably be able to figure out from that link.

Hmm I dont get it. I read the doc u sent before posting this. I already have a notification. Id =Name,
Send Clear = on, Enabled = on, Send only at initial .. = on, Trigger added = Max loss, delay = 20sec,
repeat= 2400sec. Thats it, whats wrong?

No no, all he's done is added a template.Â He hasn't even added a trigger yet.

Chadi, go to Events -> Triggers and create a trigger.Â Configure the filter options on the trigger to only match that specific event (you can match it based on a combination of just about anything, the summary, severity, event class, etc...)Â After you've created the trigger create a Notification, configure it to send an email and assign it to the trigger.Â That's all there is to it.

DpetzelÂ yes I did,added my own subscriber, is that ok? Ryan I did the way I said before, Events, Trigger, my filter options are : rules = all , enabled = yes, even class -> start with -> /status/ping.
Also performed a test on users and I did receive the e-mail properly.

Guys something with /Status/Ping cause as I told u guys I created a Threshold for loss right? Added a trigger that conatined /Perf/Snmp wich is the event class for the threshold and the Email worked. Any ideas on why does /Status/Ping is not working?

You need to rename your devices properly.Â Don't rename them on the overview page.Â Rename them by clicking the menu in the bottom left hand corner and selecting rename device.Â Then the device name will show up properly in the alerts.
