"zenasavpn localhost heartbeat failure"

I have recently added two Cisco ASA VPN devices to my ZenOSS installation, installed the zenpack which corresponds to these
devices (ZenPacks.community.CiscoASAVPN-1.1.egg). Had to drop the -py2.4 to get the installation to work properly.
However even after all requirements are met (zenpack installed, devices added to correct device group) i'm still getting events
complaining that the SNMP agent on the device is down. Which it isn't as I can snmpwalk the device with no problems.
Now in order to avoid this I moved the ASA devices to another group and removed all template bindings expect the default device
template. This seems to make ZenOSS happy. At least about the SNMP agent event notices. Once these devices are placed in
another group then I start to get proper readings from the devices' interfaces and graphing information is working fine.
After uninstalling the zenpack and moving the devices to another group I start to get a really weird looking event notication. The
envent complains about a "localhost zenasavpn heartbeat failure" on the component zenasavpn.
I have been using ZenOSS for a while now, however this has me stumped. Plus I don't have time to dive into this and find the
root of the cause.
Please any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
