Running Zenoss 3.2.1 and having an issue with IP Services.

I have a linux box that I would like to monitor and IP service. When modeling, zenoss wont detect all the services (including the one I want to monitor) and when I add it (and include monitor it) it always stays green no matter if it is up or not. I have tried the following modeler plugins;

zenoss.snmp.IpServiceMap
zenoss.portscan.IpserviceMap

any help would be appreciated.
