                     I ran through several articles regarding the configuration of snmpd.conf for CentOS6 and finally found one that worked.

This configuration allowed me to poll the network interfaces and file system successfully. 

Before the configuration i was getting the following when running model

Unable to get data for LOCALHOST from either ipAddrTable or ipNetToMediaTable.
