Hi All,

I hope you can help with some advise on updating the Centos 6.3 server on which I’m running Zenoss...  Normally I would just use export my http proxy and run:-

#yum -y update

To ensure my Centos server gets all the latest updates/patches/security fixes etc etc but I am not sure if this is a good or common practice with Zenoss installed and or if it will effect the Zenoss SP1 patch or anything else.

When I built the Centos server I used x64 Centos 6.3 with a base install and ran the autoinstall.sh to install Zenoss.  Aside from the network map not working everything else seems to be working well..

Now I just want to ensure the core OS is fully up to date without causing myself unnecessary pain.

Thanks in advance
CJ

Hi CJ,

I did not use the auto-install script, just followed the instalation procedure with a small modification concerning installation of MySQL and Java. However, keeping all extra repositories (rpmforge, epel etc.) disabled, I was able to run yum update without any problem. There is a good chance this will work for you too.
