Hi,

Can anyone help out? I cannot send alerts in the zenactiond.log is giving error "unable to relay" we are able to telnet to the server and send email via telnet. Does anyone know if zenoss uses exim to send alerts or if it is using a python script running on zenoss. 

ERROR zen.actions: Notification 'Cluster_Alert' FAILED to send emails to set(['***@sms.]): <class 'smtplib.SMTPRecipientsRefused'> - {'***@sms.: (550, '5.7.1 Unable to relay for ***@sms.)}

What have you set your smtp host and parameters to on the Advanced tab in zenoss? Does it match what you're using when you telnet in and send email?

It looks like the recipients were refused by the server. Did you mean to ahve the recipient email address be '***@sms'?

Hi,

Yes i do have an address setup but for some reason it is refusing the emails. What I did now is i created a backup and an sql dump fro zenoss, and decided to start again with a fresh centos and zenoss 4.2.3 installation and restore the backup. The OS has seen many zenoss upgrades and to clear out any error I decided to start fresh.

Everything went fine and I have new installation with all the nodes setup. The problem is that zenhub want start I am getting this in zenhub.log

I reinstalled the os and zenoss 4.2.3 and after doing a zenrestore the zenhub deamon is not starting. When I run the command zenhub run -v10 this is the output i get.

What zenpacks did you have installed? Try reinstalling them one by one then restart zenoss. Do you get similar traceback?

My problem now seems that the rabbitmq is not connecting. Is there a config file for rabbitmq or i have to create one.

This is usually the SENDER address that is configured with your general email settings from ADVANCED -> Settings.  If that email is not valid to your email server then this is the response you tend to get.

problem is I receiving txt all the time, even if schedule is setup to by working start in next day. Or if we setup dont sent alerts sunday night, we still receving txt.
