Hi,

I'm new to zenoss. I have installed the lastest version of zenoss.
I have it up and running no issues.
I have added devices with no issues.

but when i add my cisco router, i'm not seeing any interfaces on the device in zenoss.
i have three ports on the router
port 0 has about 7 sub interfaces that are running 802.1q on them.
port 1 can't no interface no 802.1q
port 2 can't see interface, no 802.1q

port 0 is cross connect to my cisco 3750 cisco switch.
i can't see the sub interfaces on the switch either, but i can see the whole interface.

Any idesas on what this could be. I think it has to do 802.1q. but i shouold the interface on port 1 and 2 on the router
if that was the case.

Try snmpwalking .1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1 and .1.3.6.1.2.1.47.1.3.2.1. Are the interfaces you're looking for listed?

The OID shown in your printscreen (is not the one I suggested) is for ifStackStatus and a value of 1 looks normal to me. As to the second snmpwalk, it shows your router reports having only one eternet type interface. Is SNMP configured correctly on your router ? Can you please try again the OID ending in 1.1.1.1 that I've suggested earlier ?

I only have a Cisco 7204VXR (NPE400) on our network with IOS Version 12.2(4r)B2 and 2 FastEthernet interfaces and this is how ifType  and ifName look like :

IF-MIB::ifType.1 = INTEGER: ethernetCsmacd(6)
IF-MIB::ifType.2 = INTEGER: ethernetCsmacd(6)
IF-MIB::ifType.3 = INTEGER: other(1)
IF-MIB::ifType.4 = INTEGER: softwareLoopback(24)
IF-MIB::ifType.5 = INTEGER: softwareLoopback(24)

IF-MIB::ifName.1 = STRING: Fa0/0
IF-MIB::ifName.2 = STRING: Fa0/1
IF-MIB::ifName.3 = STRING: Nu0
IF-MIB::ifName.4 = STRING: Lo1
IF-MIB::ifName.5 = STRING: Lo0

You should have 3 ethernetCsmacd(6) and some l2vlan(135) or similar corresponding to your dot1q VLANs.

The screenshots you posted are not of great help. What tool are you using for SNMP browsing ? I asked you to try snmpwalk for 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.3 because this exact OID is being used by Zenoss to figure out what kind of interfaces your device has. Can you please try this command from your actual Zenoss server :

snmpwalk -v 2c -c <your_community_name> <your_Cisco7200_IP> 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.3

and post the results here ?

I guess you typed the wrong OID (looks like there's a .1 missing before the final .3)

Can you copy and paste the exact OID from my snmpwalk command above ?

Don't despair!
Your device is being setup correctly and Zenoss shoud discover those interfaces during modeling. Can you please take a look at the modeler plugins listed in the properties of your router, do you see something like "zenoss.snmp.InterfaceMap ? Also can you check if your router is in the /Network/Router path in the device hierarchy.
How did you add the router, manually or via automatic discovery ?

David:

Ad I said in our PM convo, looks like it's not completeing. Removing the RouteMap and NewRouteMap should dramatically shorten the model effort and time. Once you do that and remodel the device, give it a few minutes to commit then check the device in the UI. Be sure to F5 the page so that you have the most up to date view.

Best,
