I am having trouble with Maintenance Windows.  When I select to add a new maintenance window it asks for the ID.  I enter the ID of WeeklyReboot.  Then I click on that maintenance window to edit the start time.  This is where I run into problems.  I can enter the time alright but it won't let me edit the date.  Even if I choose the selct button, it will bring up the calendar but it won't let me select any date.  All I get is a selection cursor as if I was selecting some text in a text document.  There is no link cursor that will allow me to select a date.

Had to turn Zenoss off this weekend to prevent spam as we pushed out windows updates.  Anyone have any insight into why we can't change the date on our maintenance windows?

You neglect to state details of the zenoss install or what browser you're using...

Sorry, I'm using Firefox 16.0.2 because Internet Explorer gives all sorts of problems.  Zenoss install is 4.2

I jumped on Internet Explorer (Version 8.0.7601.17514) just to confirm it would present the same problem and it did.  I still coudln't change the date in IE either.

Install SP1: http://wiki.zenoss.org/Zenoss_Core_4.2.0_SP1 http://wiki.zenoss.org/Zenoss_Core_4.2.0_SP1

It has a patch for that, among other things.

On more research, this seems to be a known problem with 4.2. Please install 4.2SP1 and see if that resolves it for you.

I have the same problem, running with SP1 and using Firefox 12 as well as Chrome 17.

I can modify any aspect of the maintenance window except the date. This means i have to create the mainentance window the same day when it is supposed to be activated...

I have tried it on maintenance windows assiciated with groups, device classes and devices, but all with the same result.

Any pointers?

I would suggest that you check the patch file that SP1 installs for the following bug...

http://jira.zenoss.com/jira/browse/ZEN-3052 ZEN-3052 - Unable to set date on maintenance windows

The patch file is available as CoreServicePacks/4.2.0-SP1/patches/zen-3052.patch when you download SP1.  You should check the code on your installation to make sure the patch was applied properly and that you restarted Zenoss after doing so as well.

kybe,

I just tested locally from a fresh install, I confirmed that the bug exists, and that the service pack does correct it.  If you're still having trouble, please reinstall the service pack.

Just in case you're having trouble I'm attaching a http://wiki.zenoss.org/Zenoss_Core_4.2.0_SP1 link to the wiki which explains how to accomplish the install.

Good luck!

I re-ran the apply.sh script and it looks like the file /opt/zenoss/Products/ZenModel/skins/zenmodel/maintenanceWindowDetail.pt has been modified according to the patch in question.

After restarting zenoss i see the following changes in the user interface:

Screenshot at 2012-11-28 09:52:07.png
The date selector will not let me select any date and I am not able to edit the date directly either. I have tested it in Chrome and Firefox.

At this point I am worried that my zenoss installation is broken.

So, I have been looking at this more closely and I have found the problem:

- The original post in this thread had the issue ( i assume ) that the date could not be picked. This was handled by the patch.

- MY issue is that after you select a date and save, the date is not saved and the original is kept. Andrew, did you test if the value in fact was saved?

The problem is a typo in the patch. It uses the field name "startdate" when it should be "startDate". Look at line 47 in the patch. The typo then goes into the file /opt/zenoss/Products/ZenModel/skins/zenmodel/maintenanceWindowDetail.pt on line 59.

The fix is really simple, here is the diff/patch:
59c59
<                                      document.getElementById('startdate').value = field.getRawValue();
---
                                      document.getElementById('startDate').value = field.getRawValue();
It now works for me. :)

I can create a JIRA issue / patch request if necessary.
