Hi All,
How can I create an inheritable alert/threshold based on the "Process Count" graph that's attached to the OS Processes section? eg, http is selected by default for monitoring in Core 3.2.1. Under each device in the OS Processes component, you can see a "Process Count" graph. I want to be able to create thresholds on these counts.

I come from a Nagios background, so I know how to do this using the check_stat.py nagios check in Zenoss. It's just that if Zenoss is already collecting the data, I'd prefer to use it. I know that this was discussed before in http://community.zenoss.org/message/6709#6709#6709 http://community.zenoss.org/message/6709#6709 but I didn't quite follow it.. I can see the OS Process monitoring template in Advanced. I can see how a threshold could be added in there. What I can't see is how I can customise the process count threshold and apply it at a *device class* level.

Eg. I have several clusters with apache and tomcat. There must be at least 1 x apache running, there must be at least 2 x tomcat running. How can I configure a threshold per OS process at the device class level and have it filter down to all my devices? At the moment I can see how I can create a local version on a single device, but not how to apply that at device class level... I have approximately 600 devices, so creating a local template each time is not really feasible..
Like I said, I've accomplished this with a nagios plugin combined with Zenoss, I'd just prefer to use the built in data if possible. Thanks!

Regards,
Joan
