Hello,

I have read thorugh the "6.3. Monitoring Using ZenCommand" chapter in the Zenoss Administration guide, but it's really not clear to me how to use a custom command for availibility monitoring only, without performance monitoring. I just want to know if that service is ok or not.

As far as I can understand one should add a Data Source with "COMMAND" type and "Nagios" parser. Then what? Should I add a Data Point, and a Threshold then?

Please advise!

Bests,
Andor

All you need is a command - you don't need to create a datapoint or anything... Just have the command return 0 if OK and 1 if not OK and you'll get an event.
