Hello all,

I've got the VMWare ESX MIBS loaded and all seems ok when I browse them in Zenoss. Here are the traps:

| vpxdAlarm (http://zenoss.aus.optiver.com:8080/zport/dmd/Mibs/mibs/VMWARE-VC-EVENT-MIB/notifications/vpxdAlarm) | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6876.4.3.0.201 | notification |
| vpxdAlarmInfo (http://zenoss.aus.optiver.com:8080/zport/dmd/Mibs/mibs/VMWARE-VC-EVENT-MIB/notifications/vpxdAlarmInfo) | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6876.4.3.0.203 | notification |
| vpxdDiagnostic (http://zenoss.aus.optiver.com:8080/zport/dmd/Mibs/mibs/VMWARE-VC-EVENT-MIB/notifications/vpxdDiagnostic) | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6876.4.3.0.202 | notification |

and here are some OID mappings:

| vmwVpxdHostName (http://zenoss.aus.optiver.com:8080/zport/dmd/Mibs/mibs/VMWARE-VC-EVENT-MIB/nodes/vmwVpxdHostName) | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6876.4.3.302 | scalar |
| vmwVpxdNewStatus (http://zenoss.aus.optiver.com:8080/zport/dmd/Mibs/mibs/VMWARE-VC-EVENT-MIB/nodes/vmwVpxdNewStatus) | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6876.4.3.305 | scalar |
| vmwVpxdObjValue (http://zenoss.aus.optiver.com:8080/zport/dmd/Mibs/mibs/VMWARE-VC-EVENT-MIB/nodes/vmwVpxdObjValue) | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6876.4.3.306 | scalar |
| vmwVpxdOldStatus (http://zenoss.aus.optiver.com:8080/zport/dmd/Mibs/mibs/VMWARE-VC-EVENT-MIB/nodes/vmwVpxdOldStatus) | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6876.4.3.304 | scalar |
| vmwVpxdTargetObj (http://zenoss.aus.optiver.com:8080/zport/dmd/Mibs/mibs/VMWARE-VC-EVENT-MIB/nodes/vmwVpxdTargetObj) | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6876.4.3.307 | scalar |
| vmwVpxdTargetObjType (http://zenoss.aus.optiver.com:8080/zport/dmd/Mibs/mibs/VMWARE-VC-EVENT-MIB/nodes/vmwVpxdTargetObjType) | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6876.4.3.308 | scalar |
| vmwVpxdTrapType (http://zenoss.aus.optiver.com:8080/zport/dmd/Mibs/mibs/VMWARE-VC-EVENT-MIB/nodes/vmwVpxdTrapType) | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6876.4.3.301 | scalar |
| vmwVpxdVMName (http://zenoss.aus.optiver.com:8080/zport/dmd/Mibs/mibs/VMWARE-VC-EVENT-MIB/nodes/vmwVpxdVMName) | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6876.4.3.303 | scalar |

However, when I receive traps from my ESX(4) host, the resulting event has a message field "snmp trap enterprises.6876.4.3.203" (note the missing '0' which is causing the trap not to be mapped).

Furthermore, the trap vras have the opposite problem, e.g:

| enterprises.6876.4.3.306.0 | Test Host Memory - Metric Usage = 70% |
| enterprises.6876.4.3.305.0 | Yellow |

(notice the extra '0', causing the traps not to be mapped).

Does anyone know why this might be? I've tried it on 3.1.x and 3.2.1 and the result is the same.

Thanks,

James
