Hello,

in Zenoss 3.2 we had option to send alerts to alternative email address, is there any way to send alert to alternative email address in Zenoss 4.2 Core ?
Also can we send alert to alternative email address (more than one alternative email address) ?

I think the idea is you would use groups to get alerts, and have accounts in those groups for anyone you wanted to recieve the e-mails.

James,

Yes i can do that, but using alternative emaill address we use to put our phone * i.e. mailto:***@vtext.com ***@vtext.com, that way we also get Critical alert via SMS, i was looking for that feature in 4.2 core.

Gropus to get alert is done, but what if Critical alerts we wants to send to our phone via email (using our Cell provider's email address) like i mention to you ( mailto:***@vtext.com ***@vtext.com, mailto:***@tmobile.com ***@tmobile.com) etc.

For me, the alternate e-mail was not in addition to but in place of the assigned e-mail. So I'm not sure how it worked for you there, but it seems like you could have a notification that uses "fake" users to hold the SMS e-mails instead, OR you could use event commands to issue a different, more text friendly alert via sendmail or whatever.

James,

This is what i am talking about in 3.2 when we define alerting rule,
there is an option called Address (optional) where we use to define another email  address for critical alert, i am looking for that option in 4.2. Is this option available in 4.2 core? Main purpose for this discussion for me is we need to send all critical alerts to respective individuals via email ( mailto:***@vtext.com ***@vtext.com) that way i will get it on my phone as a SMS.

I don't actually have a v4 setup to test with currently, but why not just set the users e-mail address to the address you want them to get the e-mails from zenoss at?

Hello,

We introduce Zenoss 4.2 core in our organization and i am wondering all plugins that I am using in 3.2 Core; can i use them in 4.2 Core? If yes, how can i do that?

When i try to get Zenpacks from http://wiki.zenoss.org/Category:ZenPacks http://wiki.zenoss.org/Category:ZenPacks, few of the zenpacks goes to git, and we don't want to use git, is there any way i can download those plugins by myself and install it either via webui or using cli? if yes what type of changes we have to do to get it work in 4.2 core?

Thanks for your help.

Sadly, it's not obvious if a Zenpack will work with a given version of Zenoss if it hasn't been tested and marked as working. Also, GIT seems to be the preferred place to get zenpacks now adays, but I agree, it's not obvious to non devs how that works. Many of the packs should be available as a zip, and if downloaded could be installed using zenpack --install --link
or there may be a autogenerated .egg. Of course, I cannot be more specific unless I know *which* zenpacks you're talking about.

Hello James,

I am looking for MSSQL 64 bit SNMP plugins for Zenoss 4.2 Core.
http://community.zenoss.org/docs/DOC-5909 http://community.zenoss.org/docs/DOC-5909 is the plugin i am looking for, we don't want to use WMI at this time, we decided to stick with SNMP only.

Please let me know if it works or not!
