This is driving me nuts, the documentation is not clear or I am not reading it correctly , I am trying to create a CPU report (or any other custom report) but there is no real good examples. I always get "unknown column"

The following didn't seem to work for me. I just want to duplicate the CPU report for starters, can someone give me a concreate example on how to create the same report that exists already in zenoss?
h4. 2.6.3. Zenoss Reports That Use Aliases

The following table shows Zenoss performance reports that use aliases, and the aliases they use. To add data points to a report, add the alias, and then ensure the values return in the expected units.
h5. #CPU Utilization

| loadAverage5min | Processes |
| cpu_pct | Percent |

in all honesty grangej

I kind of cheat and use the manage function.
Go to the Custom Device Reports folder the type /manage in the URL. In the right hand side drop down choose Report.

ID is the name you choose for your report.(or you can choose to upload an already created file.)
This way allows me to use the tal script format to create my reports. if you choose to /manage the cpu report you can copy the code there and try to understand it line by line to figure out how the cpu report does what it does.
