hi , all:

I am seted up a test environment for distributed collector based upon Zenoss Core 4.2.

I am using this guide to set up the environment :   http://community.zenoss.org/docs/DOC-2496 http://community.zenoss.org/docs/DOC-2496  ( Not use distributedCollector.ZenPack )

After add a new distributed collector and I add a device to the collector .

but not successed:

The error is : when I click the "Graphs" item in device detail page : the Graph not show as expected! but just a "Error Icon" (  image not loaded ) .

my render url is like this:  http://www.zenmaster.com:8090/www.zencollector.com http://www.zenmaster.com:8090/www.zencollector.com

now , I want to debug and find out where error occurred!   but I have no any idea to do that .


So I need your help , thanks in advance .

Is there a reason your not using the ZenPack? Its basically the defacto standard for running distributed collectors in Core. It handles alot of the gotchas, and makes the process a lot simplier.

I'd suggest undoing whatever manual changes you made to support distributed collectors, and use the zenpack. The document you have followed is not for Core 4

       thanks for reply.

       I can not install distributed zenpack successfully  at this step:

on remote collector server check if /home/zenoss/.ssh directory exists, if not,
than run **ssh-keygen** as **zenoss** user.


on Zenoss master server run as **zenoss** user:


    ::


        ssh-keygen -t rsa
        cat ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub | ssh ***@remote_collector_name "cat - >> ~/.ssh/authorized_keys"


        ---

       the command prompt asked for PASSWORD for zenoss , but I do not know it and don't want to change password by myself.

       Could you help me ?

by the way , the Zenoss was installed by core-autodeploy-4.2.sh  script automatically.

I too have a problem in my remote collector (i am using zenoss 4.2 on centos 5). i have installed the distributed collector zenpack but then i dont get any graph for the devices monitored by my remote collector.I had referred http://community.zenoss.org/docs/DOC-2496 http://community.zenoss.org/docs/DOC-2496 . Can anyone explain in brief about installing distributed collector in zenoss 4.2. please help me out :(
