Hello,
Im new to Zenoss and I have one special question. Im going to have a hundreds of HVAC unist with analogs inputs/outputs (temperatures, fan votages and etc.) and discrete inputs/outputs. Is possible to modify Zenoss to monitoring this units? Is Zenoss good for this? Available procols is Modbus and in close future also SNMP or something alse can be added.

Thanks, Jirka

I wish my HVAC system was SNMP monitorable.

In answer to your question though, we can monitor anything that speaks SNMP.  You can either stick a raspi or something on there and write your own SNMP MIB for now, or wait, and then write a ZenPack.
There's a 4 part guide on developing SNMP Zenpacks, and related documentation here: http://wiki.zenoss.org/ZenPack_Development_Guide http://wiki.zenoss.org/ZenPack_Development_Guide

Thanks for the answer, following question is  if it is good idea to use Zenoss for monitoring status of HVAC (sensors, input and output states). I searched over the internet and I didnt find another type of solution, Zenoss, nagios, zabbix or Dude is everything for monitoring internet infrastructure.

I have another question, is possible to setup multiple users, where one user can access only selected devices? Like service engineer can access only his units.

Thanks Jirka

I do this with some APC enviromental cards. I use the card inputs for high water, alarm event (Liebert has a terminal that will open close upon an alarm) temperature and humidity.

I put an addtional temperature sensor right in the outlet of the air handler and I can even track when the compressor cycled on and off.

Not a perfect solution but it does provide useful data and it can send alarms to my phone.
