I have 4 X ProLiant BL685c G7 blades. Each one has 2 internal 300 GB drives, and then several fiber channel connected LUNS that reside on an EMC VNX 5500. I'm on Zenoss 3.2.1 (haven;t had the free time to check my zenpacks for an upgrade). I'm trying to monitor stats on the disks, and it only sees the 2 internal drives. They both show up individually under hard disks, and then the ingle logical RAID 1 shows up under logical disks. I do see the rest of the drives under File Systems, but that is it. Is there any way I can get graphs and data for the disks that actually reside on my EMC VNX?

Thanks,
Matthew

Are you able to see the drives via a SNMP walk or get?

snmpwalk -v1 -c public localhost hrStorage or

snmpwalk -v1 -c public localhost 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1

Did you want me to switch anything out in those commands, or run exactly as is? Running that on my local Zenoss server returns lengthy results. I'm not sure what output you are looking for.

Sorry, I was not clear.  Run that against your Windows host, and see if the drives are under that MIB set.

snmpwalk -v<version> -c <community> <hostname> 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1

What you got back by the command was the drives on the local zenoss instance.  We need to find out how the remote server sees the remote disks.

Okay, so looking at this, you can get the normal stat data for the drives as far as utilization.  I am guessing they are the volumes:
HLOQ and V:

For additional data what exactly are you trying to get?  (sorry, I should have asked this first since you said they were showing up under the File Systems link)

From what I have found via google, what I suspect you are looking for does not exist in a ZenPack currently.  I have found a MIB set that your EMC device will likely use, but you will have to make a local template and manually add in the snmp OID's that you want to graph.

http://www.oidview.com/mibs/1139/EMC-MIB.html http://www.oidview.com/mibs/1139/EMC-MIB.html

In particular, this one seems like a good candidate:  1.3.6.1.4.1.1139.1.1.1.20

Yes, all the drives besides C are on the EMC. I would like to see all the performance stats like I see under logical disks for the internal drives. If it will not pull the data at the server level, I may be better off using EMC performance tools. I just really like to have one complete picture of server health in Zenoss. I had never noticed these were not there until I went to troubleshoot a problem recently. I  guess I thought this was read at the OS level, so I didn't think it would matter that these drives were in a SAN.

The data you are thinking of, if you can get it via the EMC perf tools, you likely can get it via SNMP as well.  Attempt that snmpwalk command but this time go against the EMC managment IP and use oid: 1.3.6.1.4.1.1139.1.1.1.20

If it works, you should readily be able to graph the results.  It will not be linked to the Windows server, but you will at least have the data inside Zenoss itself.

I guess I should have included that the server I am trying to monitor is 2008 Server.
