i used the *.deb stack installation method on Zenoss 3.0 but had problems, i want to try a different installation method. What do you think is best?thanks.

Given what's coming with v4 - and if you want to upgrade to that, the best thing to do is install CENTOS or Scientific Linux or RHEL and use an RPM installer.
