First off, hello Zenoss world!  :)

Secondly, after having wrestled the vSphere CLI installer into a Centos 6.x minimal install, I added a single ESXi host modeled (is that the proper term?) as a /Server/Virtual Machine Host/esxtop.  Zenoss 4.2 was installed using the autodeploy script from the install guide.

For some reason, my single ESXi host shows 239 virtual machines, which is interesting because it only has 7 VM's.  Examples of the other "VM's" include, but are not limited to:

aam
asyncTokenFrameSlab-0xfoobar
asyncTokenSlab-0xfoobar
ata.pata-v.00
ata.pata-v.01
ata.pata-v.02
...
busybox.2704
...
dcui
...

et cetera.  Any insight as to why this happened or how to resolve the issue are greatly appreciated!

Found the answer on an old thread that linked to this document:
http://community.zenoss.org/docs/DOC-12909

There's a comment in there that describes adding RegEx to only show stats for running *virtual machines* rather than *system processes*.  Suggestion to code maintainers: Maintain a list of ESXi processes to exclude from Zenoss Core.
