I saw a poll from 2010 asking if you want zenoss send email alert when daemon goes down. Any solution implemented for this in newer versions? Or is there any way to get alerted when a daemon goes down, especially zenperfwmi. Thanks

IIRC, zenoss generates a critical event if a daemon goes down. In this case, all you would need is an alerting rule that fires on those events - assuming of course that the daemon that's down isn't one needed to process an event or alert...
