Is their a setting that makes Zenoss alert faster?  Basically I shutdown a service, it takes about 5 minutes for me to be notified that the service is down.  I would like that to be faster.

Zenoss 3.2
Centos 5.6  x64

It's going to be the snmp polling time - I generally get notified in 60 seconds or so... are you going by e-mail or by events in the webgui? If e-mail, check your alerting rules, is there a delay there...?

I am currently using the webgui to confirm down.  I will setup the email alerts later.  Can I change the snmp polling time?  How do you adjust the polling time?

So the settings are in Advanced, Collectors, select your collector. It looks like it might be a 180 second cycle for service checks. That said, it's not a best practice to change those - you really have to watch tuning, and pretty much have to go through most of Zenoss to fix up the RRD definitions etc... Don't do it on a production server, and be ready to spend weeks making sure you've got everything tuned appropriately and that you've got the hardware ect to handle it...
