Hello good people,

I have deployed Zenoss Core 4.2 in my small environment, and for now everything went smoothly with regards of monitoring Windows servers. I managed to establish monitoring through WMI channel, it is awesome :)

I ran into one problem though, one of my servers kept generating a lot of errors and now in the Zenoss events I have 10 000 obsolete errorrs from one server. I acknowledged them, they are no longer an issue, and now I want to remove them from the events field, but not delete them. Actually, I need to archive these events, but I really cannot find a way how to do it successfully.

Can someone please help me out with this situation? Thanks.

Best regards,
Vancho.

Try closing them by clicking the button at the right of the acknowledge button. Zenoss will then move them into archive.

Thanks Nilie! :)

OK, that is used for archiving the events. But how can I view the events in the archive? Also, how long do they reside in the archive and is there an option all the events to stay in the archive permanently?

Regards,
Vancho.

You will find them when you click on Events then on Event Archive. Beware that some recent closed events are not yet in the archive. In order to understand this, I suggest you to take a look at the Zenoss core Administration document, speciffically sections 7.1.6 Event Consoles and 14.2 Events Settings where I hope you will find answres to your questions.
As for keeping events archive indefinitely, although it might be possible, I don't think it it is a good idea since you will end up with continuous storage capacity problems.
