Been using numerous versions for a while now, had a nice setup on an EC2 instance (spot request) and never backed it up (doh), they terminated it, so I am starting over.  So it's a brand new Ubuntu 10.04LTS and the stack installer.  The install was fine, I added the first 5 servers and right away I had > 6+ criticals which is all new.

The 1st was from the zenoss server itself complaining about his IP matched the localhost or somethnig, I removed him from the list and will address that later. The webservers are behind a hardware load balancer, so how I did it in previous versions was simply each had a public IP with an snmp port on the same IP.  ex;
server 1, 1.1.1.1 snmp 161
server 2  1.1.1.1 snmp 162

That worked perfect.  I then had the LB set for apache
server1   1.1.1.1 port 81
server2   1.1.1.1 port 82

The LB would take port 81 and send to server1, using the apache zenpack I had my graphs, etc.

Using this clean 3.2.1, I am getting critical errors like;
IP Service smtp is down
IP Service https down

Now, that does make sense since smtp is not running and that IP used for zenoss isn't listening on 80 for http.  So why are these included and being tested?  The device was just /server/linux, so was this added?  More important, how do I say, don't check for any of this.  I tried looking around under the classes, ipService, etc. but not sure if it's just a bad install, something on my part, or a lot changed since the previous version as I would like to tell zenoss it's a basic linux server, monitor only load, cpu, IO, and then add zenpacks for applications, but dont want mail, etc. being checked as a default.

Thanks

Those are process monitoring stuff - not template stuff. What you'll want to do is go to the servers, lock the processes, and set monitored to false.

ok, under;
infrastructure/ip servivces  I can look by cound and see items like HTTP and change that.  I can change the enable monitoring to false, and it semes to have fixed that.

I assume once I install the apache zenpack, etc. I can then defind the IP/port as I did in the past.

Thanks for such a quick reply, as that was a new one for me.
