I'm trying to graph the Active SIP calls on our Cisco CUBE router for Call Manager. I have defined the data source CvCallVolConnActiveConnection using OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.63.1.3.8.1.1.2.2

I have set the RRD type as GAUGE in the data source and used the following in the create command window

RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:1:600
RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:6:600
RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:24:600
RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:288:600
RRA:MAX:0.5:6:600
RRA:MAX:0.5:24:600
RRA:MAX:0.5:288:600
RRA:LAST:0.5:1:600
RRA:LAST:0.5:6:600
RRA:LAST:0.5:24:600
RRA:LAST:0.5:288:600

In the Graph Definition I have put LAST for the Consolidation method.

After doing all this I am sometimes not getting whole numbers for Current and Total, however if I SNMP walk that OID it always returns a whole number. I would like the graph to always graph whole numbers as I can never have 7.23 SIP calls :)

Read about RRD normalizing here : http://www.vandenbogaerdt.nl/rrdtool/process.php http://www.vandenbogaerdt.nl/rrdtool/process.php

All you can do is to modifiy the display format in graph definitions to suppress the decimals and you will have a close approximation but, for reasons mentioned above, never the value exactly as given by snmpget.

Thanks for that info. I head to reread it a couple times to really understand it but I think I get it now. I changed my graph to surpress the decimals and it is in face a really close approximation. Works for me. Thanks :)
